“Welcome A-Board!” - The African Caribbean Business Network Executive Board Election Results:

London, UK (14th February, 2008)

All the votes have now been counted and the leadership of the ACBN has been decided.

The 2008 elections for the Executive Board and General committee took place on Wednesday 13th February 2008 - and the results bring into effect a dynamic, and well qualified team to continue the upwardly mobile direction of the African Caribbean Business Network.

After a lengthy, vigorous, and transparent election process- conducted by a secret ballot and facilitated by an independent arbitrator, the results are as follows:

Executive Board Members

Dr. Yvonne Thompson remains Chair of the Board. Every remaining member of the new board brings a fresh tide of enthusiasm as a well balanced range of expertise that will steer ACBN into exciting waters, and provide boundless opportunities to solidify and expand the organization’s objectives.

In addition, the newly elected Vice Chair feels that “working proactively and effectively with our (ACBN) partners, stakeholders and members, I feel that it is an area where significant improvements and gains can be made.”

The new board will take office from 1st April 2008.

The African Caribbean Business Network (ACBN)

The ACBN is the organisation charged with working to improve access to business growth opportunities for the African Caribbean community through the supply of information, advocacy and the delivery of demand led business support services for its database of – a total of 3,184 enterprises, and rising.

The network assumes the responsibility of supporting the interests of the UK’s 18,000 AC owned businesses.
